ABOUT US
Burden Box is a community of people who want to make the world a better place through love and prayer. We come from all walks of life and, because of social media, are also scattered throughout California and other states. The primary way that we pursue our mission is through the maintenance of prayer boxes that we have mounted along two popular hiking destinations in Southern California: Mission Peak, in Granada Hills, and Mt McCoy, in Simi Valley.
Regularly, from one to several of us hike up these trails and collect the prayers that have been put in the boxes. We know that God has already heard the heart cry of each person who has authored a prayer, but we also know that he desires a relationship with us, loves to hear us express our needs to him, and loves to answer our prayers.
Once we remove the prayer cards from the boxes, we usually pray for these needs right there, and then later we post some of the hikes on social media to be prayed for by others*. Finally, they are gathered by a dedicated group who prays for them one last time.
*We do not post any prayers that have names or that we think can be identifying by what they contain, such as really specific information about a person or persons.

FIND HELP
After receiving lots of prayers about some really serious issues we felt that we needed to take another step and provide some counseling resources. We all go through hard times, but there's no reason for any of us to go through them alone, especially when there are so many wonderful people and organizations out there just waiting to help. If you're going through stuff right now...spiritual, financial, mental health, substance abuse, whatever...we want to encourage you to click on the Find Help link and see what may exist to help you address it. Freedom and joy are out there for you!
